about

From the 2000 release "Connected..."

Hoboken... Moran's... The Farside... If you were there... YOU KNOW!

Written after playing many Thurs-Fri-Sat-Sun nights in Hoboken, watching the SAME people drink their faces off every night. While I didn't have to work Monday, I knew THEY did! This was for them. The drinkers. The one's who kept me employed.

The first time I played this was at a Christmas party hosted by the owner of Moran's, Lenny Herir. It was very late, maybe only 5 people left, when I decided to play this song that was "different". A little jazzy - at least for me. I wasn't sure what to think of it. As soon as I was done, they wanted to hear it again - and then again! Yeah, we were drunk. But, nonetheless, a "classic" PF song was born.

It became a top 10 song on Garageband.com back in 2000.

ONE TOO MANY MONDAYS

Woke up late - here we go again
Running for the bus but it never ends
Hailing a taxi for a last minute ride
Oh, one of these Monday mornings I’m gonna get fired

‘Cause there’s still work left from Friday night
And my eyes are hurting, can’t look at the light
And my head’s still filled with rum and whiskey
Oh, Saturday evening will live in infamy

And I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays from the wrong side of the bar
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays, I’m surprised I’ve got this far
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays with my head buried in my hands
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays in this condition

I don’t feel like morning donuts
But thanks again for asking me
I’m not quite sure if I could keep it down
On second thought I’d like a large black coffee

I’d like to tell you just how my weekend went
If I could just remember what it was that I did
From Happy Hour Friday to Closing Time Sunday
I apparently drank like a fish

And I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays from the wrong side of the bar
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays, I’m surprised I’ve got this far
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays with my head buried in my hands
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays, One Too Many Mondays
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays…

Bridge: But Friday night is only four more days and nights away
And I know that by that time I’ll be ready to go out and play
I don’t need to be convinced that I’m on way to a binge
Someone said that I said “never again”
But this is now and that was last weekend

Could you keep it down - Don’t be so loud
If you listen close you can hear my head pound

Chorus 3: And I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays from the wrong side of the bar
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays, I’m surprised I’ve got this far
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays with my head buried in my hands
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays, One Too Many Mondays
I’ve seen One Too Many Mondays in this condition

Could you keep it down - Don’t be so loud
If you listen close you can hear my head pound
Could you keep it down - Don’t be so loud…
